This weekend I attended a women's leadership conference called "Extraordinary Women." There were many fantastic guest speakers at this year's event, and I gleaned something wonderful from all of them. Normally I walk away from a conference like this on a "mountaintop high", bouncing and beaming from all the love I feel from the Lord and all the new things I learn that I am going to go home, digest, and put into practice. And there was plenty of that this time. But in this instance I was surprised, and quite frankly, overwhelmed with the enormity of what God laid in my lap. As the speakers were speaking and the ladies were listening, I found myself looking around the room at thousands of hurting women..... All of whom had tears in their eyes when encouraging words from the speakers were spoken. Words like, "God is for you." "God is pulling for you. He wants you to succeed.", and, "You are worthy in His eyes." The faces behind the tears said it all: "Really? Am I really? I want to believe that, but...."
Usually I will notice the tears in the eyes of women at conferences when they are hearing about the gospel for the first time, or when a particular topic hits home for them. This year God opened my eyes to a whole different type of tear. The tear of unworthiness, even in the eyes of God.
Ladies, it became obvious to me this weekend that there is an epidemic of hurting Christian women in our society. I believe Satan has introduced fear and doubt into this country in proportions never before seen. And our women are cracking.... even our Christian women.... under the load. I have been moved to pray for them, but God has also moved me to do something about it. I simply CAN NOT sit here and watch this happen. What can I, personally, do beyond praying? That is something I am seeking God about. In the mean time, I am asking that you, too, will join me in prayer over our Christian population, specifically our ladies, that in the Name of Jesus, Satan would flee, and hope and confidence would be restored to the hearts of the many.
There was one other thing that struck me at this conference, and it is a blog post all on its own. So that will be the next post.... Stay tuned!
